Web Evol is an independent game studio in Sai Mai, Bangkok. We design web-building puzzles for Android in which a small spider strings threads between branches and must build something strong enough to catch the morning dew.

Every thread changes the tension of the whole web. The pleasure is in building a structure that is light and beautiful while still sound.

Levels grow slowly from a single twig to whole gardens, with wind and rain testing each design. A web that fails can be repaired thread by thread rather than rebuilt from scratch, so experiments stay cheap and curiosity is rewarded. Finished webs are kept in a sketchbook that records how each one was made, from the first anchor thread to the last spiral. Insects drift into the garden too, along with leaves and seeds, and a well-built web can hold some and let others pass, so every level asks a slightly different question about strength and openness.

   Choose where the first threads attach; a poor anchor weakens everything.

   Radius

   Lay spokes from the centre to share the load evenly.

3. Step 3

   Spiral

   Wind the catching thread outward without tangling it.

4. Step 4

   Weather

   Wind and rain show where the web is weakest.
